What the catalog holds

Not a product list. A pricing engine.

Shops sell goods they buy in and decoration they do themselves, and the two price nothing alike. The catalog carries both.

Products with real supply

An item can carry the supplier behind it and that supplier's quantity cost tiers, so a quote prices from what the goods cost you.

Priced from cost, not from a guess on top of list.

Services are first class

Decoration prices as a service in its own right: a setup fee, a per-unit rate, adders for extra colours and extra locations, and its own quantity tiers.

Not a line note with a number typed after it.

Member pricing, with an end date

A membership plan can grant a percentage off customer pricing. It resolves on the server from the member's own plan, and the term it belongs to can expire.

No quiet price mistakes on repeat orders.

Yesterday's price stays on yesterday's order

Change a rate and every new quote follows it. An order that already exists keeps what it was priced at — a catalog line stores both what the customer was charged and the catalog price at the time.

A reorder is measured against that, not against today's list.
